The CFD Takes Part in Pirate Day at Wood Park

The Cinnaminson Fire Department took part in Pirate Day, hosted by the Cinnaminson Police Department, on Monday at Wood Park.

Fifth graders were treated to a fun day of activities at Wood Park that included an inflatable obstacle course, basketball, face painting, video games, volleyball, a BMX bike demonstration and fire hose bowling.

The Fire Marshal's Office and the career engine setup a bowling alley in the parking lot of Wood Park so the students could push a large ball down the lane to the cones. The goal of the game was to get the ball in to the middle of the cones setup at the end of the lane using a fire hose.

All the students in attendance received shirts to wear with the word Pirate across the front in an image that mirrored the Batman logo. Last year, the Pirate wording mirroed Superman. Another superhero theme is scheduled for next year's event.

The program was started by Officer Mike Czarzasty and it replaced the DARE program in town.
