The second annual WXTU Firehouse Food Drive concluded on Wednesday, November 18 with a live broadcast by popular morning show Doc and Andie at Station 201 in Cinnaminson.
The Cinnaminson Fire Department enlisted the help of the Cinnaminson Police Department, the residents of Cinnaminson, the businesses of the township and other surrounding departments in an effort to win this year's competition.
The Cinnaminson Fire Department would like to extend its sincere thanks to all the residents, businesses and surrounding departments that donated items, cash, gift cards or checks to the food drive.
This year's drive was a major success, as the department was able to donate more than 4,000 items following the 5:30-10am broadcast of Doc and Andie at Station 201.
The food drive pits New Jersey against Pennsylvania, as Razz was live from 3-7pm at Warminster Station 90 on Wednesday. All told, the two departments that took part in hosting WXTU were able to raise more than 5,000 items for local food banks this holiday season.
"The effort that the members of our department put forth in spreading the word and securing donations for the Firehouse Food Drive was exceptional," Chief Bill Kramer said. "It's great to see the community come together to support such an important cause."
